Rescue & Rehabilitation Program
At Lebanese Wildlife, our Rescue & Rehabilitation Program is dedicated to providing expert care for injured, orphaned, and displaced wild animals. We work closely with veterinarians, conservationists, and community members to ensure that wildlife in need receives proper intervention and a chance to return to their natural habitat.
Rescue Operations
Our team responds to calls from the public, government agencies, and conservation partners to assist wild animals facing threats such as injuries, habitat destruction, and human-wildlife conflict. Each rescue is carefully assessed to determine the best course of action, prioritizing both the safety of the animal and the people involved.
With extensive experience in handling various species, including birds of prey, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, we use specialized techniques to safely capture and transport animals in distress.
Medical Care & Rehabilitation
Once rescued, animals are brought to our rehabilitation facility, where they receive specialized veterinary care tailored to their species and condition. Our rehabilitation process follows internationally recognized best practices to give each animal the highest chance of recovery. This includes:
- Emergency medical treatment for injuries and illnesses
- Nutritional support based on species-specific diets
- Rehabilitation protocols to help animals regain their natural behaviors, such as flight conditioning for birds and natural hunting or foraging training for mammals and reptiles
- Minimizing human interaction to preserve natural instincts and prepare animals for release
Release Back to the Wild
The ultimate goal of our program is to successfully return rehabilitated animals to their natural habitats, ensuring they have the best possible chance of survival. We carefully select safe and suitable release sites that align with each species’ ecological needs and natural range.
Why It Matters
Lebanon’s wildlife faces growing challenges, including habitat loss, illegal hunting, poisoning, and human encroachment. Without intervention, many injured or displaced animals would not survive. By rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing wildlife, we help mitigate human impact on ecosystems and support biodiversity conservation.
Every animal we save is a step toward a healthier, more balanced natural world. Your support allows us to continue this vital work, giving Lebanon’s wildlife a second chance at life.
